Who We Are
Mercy Ministries of Canada provides hope and healing
to desperate young women who are seeking freedom from life-controlling
issues such as drug and alcohol addiction, depression, eating
disorders, unplanned pregnancy, physical and sexual abuse and
self-harm.
Our free-of-charge, biblically-based program serves a diverse population of young women from various socio-economic backgrounds, ages 19-28. Many of the young women who come to Mercy for help are facing a combination of debilitating circumstances and have been in various treatment facilities with unsuccessful long-term results. We are committed to providing the young women we serve with the most excellent program services that allow them to recognise their self-worth and prepares them to reach their full potential. Our unconventional, Christ-centred approach to healing allows young women to permanently stop destructive cycles and prepares them to take hope back out into their communities.
We are part of Mercy Ministries International.
John and Helen Burns serve on the Mercy Ministries of Canada Board. They also pastor Relate Church, a thriving family church with three worship centres in the Greater Vancouver area. John and Helen travel internationally, speaking on topics including marriage, family and relationships. They are gifted authors and hosts of the television show, Relate.
